Last week, we were visited by Eddie O’Toole, Executive Director of Berkshire Amistad, and Jose Alberto Vasquez Cruz, Governor of Intibuca, Honduras. Berkshire Amistad is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that connects the Berkshires with Malpaisillo, Nicaragua, Guaimaca and Intibuca/La Esperanza Honduras. Eddie spoke to his dream to construct a high school on land owned by Governor Vasquez. O’Toole and Vasquez are currently in the Berkshires looking for a school slated for demolition. As they have done before, they are looking to disassemble the building here, ship it in a container that brings us bananas to eat, then reconstruct in Intibuca, Honduras. |
