Scholarships
Three scholarships were awarded at last weeks meeting, the Paul Harris Fellows, Lyon Family, and Nash Family. All three are funded through our foundation and are focused to acknowledge those who achieve success while overcoming personal struggles, demonstrate strong character and a commitment to education.  This years winners are:
 
Paul Harris Fellows, Elijah Cunningham who is a recent graduate of Taconic where he was an AP Scholar, won the Superintendent's Award for Excellence, and is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish and Robotics Club. He will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology.
  
Nash Family, Marissa Buttlieri who is a recent graduate of PHS will be going to MCLA to become a teacher, she already has three credits for her degree through a dual enrollment class. She comes from a family of six children.
 
Lyon Family, Dylan Northrup a vocational student from PHS is a member of cross country and track teams and skills USA program. A Rotarian Service above self award winner, will be attending UMASS Stockbridge School of Agriculture.   
 
 
Resignation
The board regrets to inform the membership that it has accepted the resignation of Ed O'Brien, he was a long time valued member and we all wish him the best in his future endeavors.  
Rotary Foundation Elections
Elections were held last week for the Pittsfield Rotary Foundation, congratulations Tom Sherman President, Board of Directors Carol Leibinger-Healy, Kelly Marion, Mark McKenna
Transition Party
Don't forget about the Annual Rotary Transition Party  Thursday, June 30th from 5pm to 9pm, 99 Valentine Rd., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Join us as we celebrate the end of Kelly's Rotary year and the start of a new one with Joan DiMartino as our President.
 
Book House Duties
The following schedule of Club members has been created to rotate caretaking responsibilities among the membership. The date listed is the Thursday of the week assigned.  We ask that sometime during the week assigned, from the prior Sunday to the following Saturday, that the assigned Rotarian visit the Rotary book house (at the Boundless Playground), to clean out any trash, neaten the inventory, and determine whether additional books need to be acquired.
